Cal's Boateng Out 4-6 Weeks
Cal’s leading wideout Nyan Boateng will miss 4-6 weeks after suffering a broken foot against Minnesota on Saturday. Cal has gotten off to a strong start this season and enters Pac-10 play this week when they travel to Eugene to take on the Oregon Ducks. The Bears will definitely miss the Brooklyn, NY native as he already has 439 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns in three games.
The Bears will look for junior Jeremy Ross to step up and take the place of Boateng while he’s out. Ross has played in all three games for Cal this season and has 97 yards on 4 receptions. While this is a hit for the Cal passing game, their strength is on the ground with Hesiman Trophy contender Jahvid Best. Best’s value has just increased that much more for the Bears.
