Ole Miss DE Greg Hardy will not suit up this Saturday for the Rebels’s second game of the season against Southeastern Louisiana. Hardy sprained his ankle on September 6th during Ole Miss’s game against Memphis and it is still giving him trouble. Rebel head coach Houston Nutt announced on Monday, “I’d say Greg is very doubtful for this game,” Nutt said. “His ankle is still swollen. There’s some discoloration. He has a ways to go.”
Hardy has been one of the league’s most dangerous defensive ends and is one of the biggest reasons that Ole Miss is ranked the highest they’ve ever been in school history.
The 6’5, 275 lb., senior had 8.5 sacks and 18 tackles last season and was a big contributor to Ole Miss’s magical run. No timetable has been set for Hardy’s return but the Rebels hope to have him before they travel to Columbia, SC to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks September 24th.
