Kendall Hunter Doubtful for Rice

In addition to losing at home to unranked Houston, the Oklahoma State Cowboys may have lost starting RB Kendall Hunter for this week’s upcoming game against Rice. Hunter left Saturday’s game in the second quarter after suffering an apparent right leg injury and didn’t return to action for the rest of the night. Before the injury, Hunter rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown on 9 carries. Oklahoma State hasn’t released the exact type of injury suffered by Hunter but school officials said that he is doubtful heading into this weekend’s matchup.

With Hunter out, the Cowboys will turn to Keith Toston and Beau Johnson to carry the load. Toston rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on Saturday while Johnson ran for 82 yards and a touchdown as well. The ‘Boys are in good hands while Hunter is out, but some changes will have to be made in Stillwater if they want to stay relevant in the hunt for the BCS title this year.
