The Garrett Gilbert era is officially underway in Austin, Texas. The rising sophomore was thrown into the fire as a true freshman during the 2010 BCS National Championship game against Alabama after Texas starting QB Colt McCoy left the game in the first quarter with an injury. In addition to losing at home to unranked Houston, the Oklahoma State Cowboys may have lost starting RB Kendall Hunter for this week’s upcoming game against Rice. Hunter left Saturday’s game in the second quarter after suffering an apparent right leg injury and didn’t return to action for the rest of the night.
