Oklahoma States’ aerial attack dominates Arizona

It’s getting a little warm in Tucson, Arizona, and I’m not talking about the weather.  Coach Mike Stoops got steamrolled last night at the hands of #9 Oklahoma State and Heisman hopeful Justin Blackmon, 37-14. Arizona’s offensive line, which boasts five new starters was able to protect QB Nick Foles (37/51, 398 yards, 1 TD) but failed to open holes for RB Keola Antolin (13 carries for 22 yards and 1 TD) which made the offense very one dimensional. ...

Gundy fires carpenter for wearing Oklahoma gear, faces lawsuit

Team loyalty in the ranks of college football is second to none and a carpenter from Choctaw, Oklahoma now knows too well.  Back in March, Oklahoma State football head coach Mike Gundy hired a contractor to do over $80,000.00 worth of home improvement projects to his Stillwater home.  On the day the project began, one of the carpenters, Brent Loveland, unwisely showed up to Gundy’s house wearing a gray Oklahoma baseball t-shirt.  Upon seeing the rival shirt, coach Gundy just...

Oklahoma State spends $16 million on practice facility

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are about to break ground on a new $16 million state-of-the-art indoor practice facility. The Cowboys were in much need of an indoor facility to keep up with its conference foes in terms of selling the program and facilities to recruits. Additionally, OSU has spent $3 million for the construction of three practice fields (one turf and two grass) and thanks to billionaire hedge-fund manager T. Boone Pickens, spent a whopping $100 million to upgrade...

Longhorns crushed, CB Chykie Brown out for the season

The Texas Longhorns (4-5, 2-4 in Big XII play) continue to run-a-muck in the world of irrelevance and Coach Mack Brown cannot seem to temper the mood. This past Saturday, Kansas State embarrassed the Longhorns with a 25 point beat down in a 39-14 demolishing of Texas. The team is in panic mode dropping 5 of their last 6 games with two top 25 teams left on their schedule (Oklahoma State and Texas A&M). To make matters worse, senior...

WR Blackmon returns to action in Stillwater

Stillwater got a little relief today as potential coach of the year Mike Gundy announced WR Justin Blackmon is back on the field after serving a one game suspension for a pending DUI charge. Blackmon returns just in time as No. 19 Oklahoma State (7-1, 3-1) takes on No. 22 Baylor (7-2, 4-1) this Saturday with huge conference implications. The winner takes the lead in the race for first place in the division. In Blackmon’s absence, Oklahoma State struggled...

After two arrests, OSU’s Johnson returns to the field

As preseason football comes to full swing in Stillwater, Coach Mike Gundy is easing the noose around the neck of Victor Johnson. Despite being charged last month with driving while intoxicated and then possession of marijuana, Coach Gundy is allowing his free safety to return to the field in a limited capacity. The Waco, Texas native was not expected to see the field until the disposition of his criminal cases. However, after the loss of safety Daytawion Lowe and...

The Pac-10 has invited the Utah Utes to become the newest member of the future Pac-12, and sources are reporting that Utah will happily accept.  Utah officals are holding a press conference tomorrow and Pac-10 officials will be in attendance. If you are a member of the Ute Nation this is undoubtedly great news. This move makes Utah an instant player in the BCS picture and gives the program national exposure.  This bodes well for program revenue and recruiting, something that...

NCAA gives a black eye to eye black

NCAA football’s governing body just approved rule changes earlier today that will take effect starting in 2011 to include no eye black messages, no wedge blocking, and no major taunting. We first reported the proposed rule change back in February, but now it’s official. Players wearing eye black will be forbidden to write any messages on their glare blocking accessories. While eye black has always been a part of football, the trend of writing messages on them really took off...
