Jarvis Jones, the Nation’s Best Linebacker

Not only is Georgia’s Jarvis Jones the best linebacker in the nation, but he is arguably the best defensive player in the NCAA.  The junior linebacker is an All-American candidate and a finalist for the Bednarik, Lombardi, Nagurski, and Butkus award.  At 6’3, 241 lbs., Jones is a premier game-changer who causes havoc in the backfield.  He leads the nation in forced fumbles (6) and is second in the nation in tackles for loss (19.5). In another step to lure top talent and to let blue-chippers know that USC is the place to showcase your football talent, head coach Lane Kiffin and the Trojans are now including twitter handles on player bio’s. These highly public embarrassments can ruin lives, cost schools thousands or millions of dollars, and leave the entire...

USC RB Dillon Baxter out on paternity leave?

If you watched USC break Notre Dame’s spirit last night, you might have noticed that the Trojan’s star running back Dillon Baxter was not on the sidelines. In fact, he did not even travel with the team. Rather, Baxter stayed home because his girlfriend was going into labor. There is no word on whether or not his girlfriend did in fact give birth this weekend, but with Baxter’s constant absence, there is reason to believe his days on the team...

Notre Dame unveils the new standard for gold helmets

During head coach Brian Kelly’s post-practice debriefing earlier today, he revealed to the Notre Dame nation a tweak in the team’s wardrobe — a new gold helmet.  With the Fighting Irish set to host USC under the lights Saturday night, there is no better time and venue to inaugurate the new gold helmet which has been tested and approved for HD cameras that look “terrific” under the lights according to Kelly. The helmet, with its unique reflective gold particles,...
