Penn State Cruises to Victory

Penn State opened the season with an easy win over the Akron Zips. This game was sealed at half-time when PSU went into the locker room with a 31 point lead. Clark had an impressive performance going 29/40 for 353 yards and 1 TD. PSU’s receivers showed signs of their youth and inexperience by bobbling and dropping a few passes, but overall, the fan’s should be pleased with the groups performance. Leading the pack was Moye’s 6 receptions for...

Small Sickness

Ohio State’s WR Ray Small is still not on the depth chart for today’s game against the Navy Midshipmen. It was reported last night that Small, OSU’s kick returner and wide receiver, was ill and would not play in the opener. Rumors are also speculating that Small may have been kicked-off the team or left the team for repeated violations of team rules. Since he has a history of trouble under Tressel, it shouldn’t be too shocking to fans...

Minor wont see Major Playing Time on Saturday

As fate would have it, Michigan’s Rich Rodriguez may have one more problem to deal with. Starting RB Brandon Minor is questionable for Saturday’s game against Western Michigan. It appears Minor is suffering from a nagging ankle injury. The team is limiting his practice duties and he will be re-evaluated before Saturday’s kick-off. If he doesn’t play or has limited playing time, this would hurt the Wolverines offense as Minor lead the Wolverines with 533 yards rushing last season and was poised to...

QB Cousins Named Starter

Coach Mark Dantonio finally named QB Kirk Cousins as the starter for the season opener against Montana State. For you Cousins fans, do not hold your breath, the battle for the starting job is still alive and well. According to sources, QB Keith Nichol, an Oklahoma transfer, will also take some snaps in the first half. Dantonio believes both QBs have promise, but opted to start Cousins because he has been in the Spartans’ system longer. Last season, he completed 32...

Weeding out the legal jargon, Nexity is seeking damages for a default on a promissory note that funded the real-estate project. Rodriguez is one of the guarantors and is obligated to...

Rodriguez denies violations

The Detroit Free Press is investigating whether or not the University of Michigan football team violated NCAA rules governing off-season team workouts. Numerous football players have come forward and told the Free Press, under conditions of anonymity, that training and practice sessions exceeded the NCAA limits. If this is the case, this would be a major NCAA infraction and could result in probation, loss of scholarships, and loss of practice time. If these allegations prove to be true, which...

Iowa to lose a Jewel

Big rumors are swirling in Iowa City. There is chatter that the Hawkeyes’ star RB Jewel Hampton is contemplating red-shirting the 2009 season. Earlier in the summer, Hampton went down with a right knee strain which was subsequently injured during the preseason a few weeks ago. If his right knee doesn’t improve, he will have no other choice but to go under the knife. If he opts for knee surgery, he would be forced to sit out his sophomore season...
