VaTech’s secondary gets a little weaker

Virginia Tech is in the Christmas spirit by giving Tennessee a weaker secondary for the Chick-fil-A-Bowl. The school announced that starting cornerback Stephan Virgil will be sidelined for the bowl game. Unfortunately, his grades were not up to par so he was declared academically ineligible for any post season play. What makes matters worse for Virgil, he is a senior so his collegiate career is now officially over. In place of Virgil, sophomore Eddie Whitley will get the starting nod.

All I ask for is one more round

Florida State just highlighted that past success doesn’t mean a thing. Bobby Bowden has been calling the shots for 34 years in Tallahassee. He won the Seminoles a national title, conference championships, and garnered respect among the college football world. Even with all his success, Florida State would not give him one more year at the helm. A few weeks ago, it was announced that Bowden would voluntarily step down after the Seminole’s Jan. 1 bowl game. Now reports are...

This Week in College Football Reform

For Immediate Release Contact:  Press@PlayoffPAC.com Playoff Supporter of the Week-Texas Quarterback Colt McCoy Every week, Playoff PAC highlights a prominent community leader in government, sports, or entertainment who favors college football reform. “I’ve thought about it a lot. I’d have to say eight-team playoff and maybe cut the season one game short. I don’t think you would lose that much money because the playoffs would generate a lot of interest and ultimately you could find out who the national...

The Ghost of Cameron Newton

Last season Florida Gator QB Cameron Newton almost had it all except for a personal computer. So the star recruit took it upon himself to steal another student’s laptop. When officers arrived at his dormitory, he panicked and threw the $1,700 laptop out of his dorm window with hopes of hiding the evidence. Surprise surprise, that plan did not work and the officers caught on to Newton’s plan. As a result, Newton was arrested for the computer theft and...
