@JazReynolds: watch what you tweet!

Oklahoma wide receiver Jaz Reynolds took the Red River Rivalry trash talking and tweeting a bit too far on Tuesday. After a gunman opened fire at the University of Texas, Reynolds sent derogatory tweets on his twitter page to memorialize the event: “Hey everyone in Austin, tx… kill yourself.” Then he tweeted: “Everyone in austin, tx disregard that last tweet… y’all will mess around n do it lmao.” As result of his insensitive remarks, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops indefinitely...

BCS Controversies by Year

The BCS and controversy go together like maize and blue, scarlet and grey, crimson and cream or burnt orange and white. In most seasons since the system’s inception, there has been heated debate pertaining to which teams should compete in the BCS games, and more importantly, the national championship game. Unfortunately, only so many spots are available -two in the case of national championship game – so as parity continues in college football, more problems will arise akin to...

Dantonio has a lot of heart, returns to coaching

Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio must really want to beat the #11 Wisconsin Badgers this Saturday. After being hospitalized following a mild heart attack on September 19th, the head coach doesn’t want to miss a beat despite better judgment. He is expected to be coaching the team from the press box as the undefeated Spartans (4-0) open Big Ten conference play this Saturday. Where are they now?: Sharmon Shah

For those of you outside of UCLA who aren’t familiar with the name Sharmon Shah, perhaps the name Karim Abdul-Jabbar brings back some memories. Though he left UCLA with one year of eligibility remaining, he ranks third in the Bruins all-time rushing leaders list...

It’s good to be Chris Rainey

Suspended Gator WR Chris Rainey has dodged the proverbial bullet today as long as he stays out of trouble for 6 months, performs 10 hours of community service, and undergoes an anger management evaluation. The stud receiver will no longer face felony charges for sending threatening text messages to his ex-girlfriend. Rather, he has agreed to a deferral to a misdemeanor charge. The Gainesville state attorney Bill Cervone believes there was no imminent danger to the victim making a misdemeanor...

It’s getting hot in Athens

Mark Richt’s embarrassing loss to Mississippi State this past Saturday (12-24) puts Georgia 0-3 in conference play and is causing concern in Athens. When Mark Richt took over the reins in 2001, he had great expectations for the Bulldogs and did not disappoint. During his coaching tenure at Georgia, he’s amassed a 7-2 bowl record while bringing home 2 SEC Championships and 4 SEC East Division titles. He also has an impressive 91-30 record as the head coach and...

U can’t touch this

From Miami’s opening TD drive to its aggressive defense, the Pittsburgh Panthers did not stand a chance of winning Thursday night’s game. The Hurricanes dominated on both sides of the ball trouncing the Panthers 31-3. Miami’s Jacory Harris wasn’t perfect as his tendency to throw interceptions haunted him again, but he did come out of Heinz Field the victor. Despite two picks, Harris was an impressive 21 of 32 for 2 TDs and 248 yards. Harris did give the...
