When a top prospect out of Denver passes over Michigan and Colorado to play for Central Florida, you know the times have changed. Denver’s Mullen High Leilon Willingham, in a surprise move, announced this morning that he will be a UCF Knight. He signed his letter of intent during this morning’s high school “announcement” ceremony. Willingham will be joining teammate WR Rayshon Williams who also announced and signed a letter of intent to play for O’Leary. Williams certainly comes...

Offensive line coach Jeff Grimes couldn’t be more pleased with Dematha’s Cyrus Kouandjio signing with Auburn. The 6’7 offensive tackle, who weighs-in at a staggering 325 pounds, signed his letter of intent today committing to the current National Champs. Facebook leads to recruiting nightmare

With college recruiting already a stressful business, to some high school athletes, social media is doing more harm than good. Michigan Aims High

The Michigan Wolverines really wanted to play the Air Force Academy in 2012. So much so, AF athletic director, Hans Mueh stated that since mid-November of 2010, Michigan was incessantly contacting and pushing to schedule a one-game deal in 2012. What eventually made the decision easy for Air Force, outside the free national exposure from playing in the Big House and the Mountain West smoothing their shake-up, was Michigan agreed to pay the Falcons $1.1 million to play the...

Locker room fight leads to assault charges

Back in October, Louisville’s Jacob and Isaac Geffrad thought it best to beat the crap out of fellow teammate Patrick Grant after a hard day’s practice. Apparently the locker room scuffle turned violent when players began accusing each other that they weren’t practicing hard enough. At one point, Isaac held down Patrick in LAPD fashion while Jacob practiced his best Manny Pacquiao combinations on Patrick’s head. After the fight, if you want to call it a fight, Grant was...

Georgia likes to Party

University of Georgia fans want to exercise their God given right of properly tailgating on football Saturday. The students have urged university administrators to ease newly enacted restrictions on tailgating in North Campus come 2011. The student body asked the administration to specifically lift 3 restrictions: no tents, no tables longer than 4 feet, and no tailgating until four hours before kickoff. On its own, these demands seem quite reasonable but makes one wonder why the students didn’t fight...

Court of Appeals rules against Mike Leach

It looks like Texas Tech cannot be touched, at least financially, when in comes to breach of contract claims. The state court of appeals agreed with Texas Tech and threw out former coach Mike Leach’s breach of contract claim for financial damages citing under the school’s sovereign immunity, Texas Tech cannot be sued unless the state granted permission or the school waived its immunity based on certain conduct.
