Earlier when we reported about Ava Maria’s inaugural football season, it was met with some resistance. Putting the negative comments aside, the 2011 Gyrenes are gearing up for their inaugural football season which is quickly approaching. Unfortunately, the university is dealing with budget concerns and may have to implement pay cuts, among other things, for the athletic department. The Fort Myers Miracle, a Class A affiliation of the Minnesota Twins, recognizes the impact Ohio State’s Jim Tressel left behind amidst serious NCAA violations looming over the Buckeye nation. West Virginia’s current offensive coordinator and head coach-in-waiting Dana Holgorsen had a drunken laden incident at the Cross Lanes Mardi Gras Casino and Resort this past Wednesday. Apparently, Holgorsen was keeping with the West Virginia spirit by having a few too many drinks while rolling the dice. Jerry Jones just officially launched an offshoot of his Cowboys Merchandising Ltd. company called Silver Star Merchandising. The goal of Silver Star is to lure top college athletic programs with the hopes of banking off of the program’s success with the sale of logo branded apparel.
