Texas out another RB

The Texas Longhorns were informed by the NCAA that senior tailback Vondrell McGee lost his appeal and is deemed academically ineligible to play this season. Coach Mack Brown was disappointed in the outcome and will certainly miss the services of his senior TB who amassed 973 yards and 14 TDs in the 35 games he played as a Longhorn. The university did state that McGee is still enrolled as a student as is scheduled to graduate this December.

Texas RB Vondrell McGee has been suspended for one game with the possibility of more depending on the outcome of his pending DWI case. The 5’10 senior from Longview, Texas, was pulled over at 3:07 am Sunday morning by an Austin police officer who observed him driving without his headlights on.  Upon being pulled over, McGee blew a 0.12, the legal limit in the state of Texas is 0.08. Texas junior Vondrell McGee was named starting running back  for the ‘Horns today. There has been an intense battle for possession of the position between McGee and  sophomore Foswhitt Whittaker, but McGee took the lead after Whittaker was forced to sit out a few practices with injury.
