Memphis is accepting resumes

In the wake of Memphis’ Tommy West’s departure, potential head coach replacements have already been named in Tommy Tuberville and Terry Bowden. Tuberville and Bowden are the front-runners for the position. Tuberville’s resume includes the former head coaching job at Auburn. Meanwhile, Bowden is the current coach at Div. II North Alabama. Others being considered are Auburn’s offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, LSU’s assistant Larry Porter, and Florida’s defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. Unfortunately, The Matador is not under consideration.

We’ve got to help this football program… or do away with it

Holding a press conference after you get fired is pretty risky these days. After Tigers head coach Tommy West was fired, West took the podium, starting off by saying “This is not a good day at the office,” then continued with an impassioned plea for support for the Tigers football program–“We’ve got to help this football program… or do away with it.” Apparently, he thinks Memphis should get rid of their football program because the school fails to properly support...
