Some disturbing news is coming out of the University of Memphis. Redshirt sophomore and starting quarterback, not to mention the son of the FedEx founder, Cannon Smith was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct earlier today. After completing his final exams, Smith decided to do what every college student does, drink to oblivion. The Matador is considering changing this site to the Vols’ police blotter as Tennessee continues to deal with its delinquent players.  Another star 2009 recruit fell on the wrong side of the law and was arrested for shoplifting before the Memphis game.  Freshman defensive back Nyshier Oliver rounds up the forth criminal (for the month of November) on Kiffin’s team roster (you already know about the other three convicts). In the wake of Memphis’ Tommy West’s departure, potential head coach replacements have already been named in Tommy Tuberville and Terry Bowden. Tuberville and Bowden are the front-runners for the position. Tuberville’s resume includes the former head coaching job at Auburn. Meanwhile, Bowden is the current coach at Div. II North Alabama. Others being considered are Auburn’s offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, LSU’s assistant Larry Porter, and Florida’s defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. Unfortunately, The Matador is not under consideration.
