Former Heisman Finalist Arrested in Hawaii

Quarterback Colt Brennan would have more luck playing at partybingo.com than he would at living life as he was arrested last week in Kailua, Hawaii for felony drug possession and drunk driving.  The former Hawaii superstar who owns college football’s single season touchdown passing record (58 TDs) was pulled over for driving 10 miles over the speed limit.  This infraction led to him being charged for DUI and for promoting a dangerous drug, a 3rd degree felony.  Brennan was ultimately released from...

Hawaii and Wyoming renew rivalry, lost trophy

Hawaii and Wyoming are reuniting in the Mountain West Conference come 2012–a rivalry that didn’t garner much interest outside of Laramie or Honolulu. With the resurrection of this rivalry, there is one small problem, the rivalry trophy has gone missing. The Paniolo Trophy, a tradition dating back to 1979, was last won and seen at Wyoming. However, the trophy has gone missing. It is clear the Cowboys’ staff didn’t think too highly of the trophy as representatives admittedly stated they...

Tyler’s Time

USC’s Marc Tyler will start at tailback for the Trojans on Thursday night when USC travels to Hawaii for their season opener against the Warriors. Tyler and Allen Bradford were competing for the starting job this off-season and many expected Bradford to fill the shoes of former Trojan RB Joe McKnight. However, Tyler had other plans in mind. Plagued by a toe injury last season, Tyler only saw action in one game in which he rushed five times for 72...

Warriors lose their leader

When Hawaii hosts Fresno State this Saturday, the Warriors will be without the services of QB Greg Alexander, Colt Brennan‘s successor. Alexander severely injured his left knee during Wednesday’s loss at Louisiana Tech when he was pushed out of bounds by linebacker Adrien Cole. After the diagnosis, it was determined that Alexander must undergo season ending knee surgery to repair ligament damage. This is particularly bad news for the Warriors as they are an extremely pass happy team who...

McMackin faces 30 day Suspension

In an attempt to make right, Hawaii’s coach Greg McMackin faces a 30 day suspension without pay and has volunteered to take an additional 7 percent pay cut from his $1.1 million salary for making his “little faggot dance” comment when rehashing the pregame events before last year’s Hawaii Bowl. Notre Dame was upset with the comments, “Coach McMackin demonstrated poor judgment when, while making comments critical of our football program, he used a derogatory word,” Weis said. But...

McMackin not a fan of the Irish dance

Hawaii’s head coach Greg McMackin needs to think before he speaks.  During yesterday’s WAC media day, McMackin relayed a story about last year’s crushing defeat in the Hawaii Bowl at the hands of the Fighting Irish.  During the pregame festivities, the Irish performed their traditional dance much to the delight of all the Notre Dame  fans that traveled to the Island. The dance apparently wasn’t up to McMackin’s standards as he referred to it as the “little faggot dance.”  Afterwards, the coach apologized, “It ticks me...
