Former Hawaii QB Colt Brennan (#15) is in serious condition after suffering injuries from a major car accident

Former Hawaii QB Colt Brennan was seriously injured today in a motor vehicle accident on the Big Island of Hawaii. Early reports indicate that Brennan was a passenger in an SUV that crossed the centerline on Queen Kaahumanu Highway near Makalawena and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. Two women along with Brennan were reportedly injured.

Brennan suffered broken ribs, a broken left collarbone, and head trauma. He is currently listed in serious condition at Kona Community Hospital. With investigations underway, police still do not know the exact cause of the accident or if alcohol was involved.

Brennan was most remembered during his collegiate days for finishing third in the 2007 Heisman race and becoming the NCAA career leader in TD passes throwing 131 from ’05-’07. After college, Brennan was drafted by the NFL’s Washington Redskins, but he never saw any playing time. He was released by the Skins during the start of this season’s training camp.
