RB Dillon Baxter (#28) faces one game suspension for violation of team rules

For those of you anxious to see freshman running back Dillon Baxter spin in a Trojans uniform, you will have to wait an extra week as the highly touted recruit has been suspended for the season opener. Dillon Baxter will not be traveling with the team to Hawaii for the September 2nd opener as he was cited for violating team rules. Coach Lane Kiffin would not specify the exact violation, but his action is sending a stern message to his players that any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and will be punished accordingly.

Though this is unverified, the suspension seems to be related to a Monday night party at Fluor Tower were the football players are housed during the summer. Early Tuesday morning USC’s Department of Public Safety filed an incident report stating that a student violated the team’s curfew policy and was under the influence of a controlled substance. Rumor has it that Baxter is the named individual in the report.

If this incident proves to be true, Kiffin is handling it appropriately as Baxter’s suspension is a fair punishment considering the minor violation.
