Holy Moses! McCray suffers ACL tear

As preseason football kicks off, every team is subject to injuries. This past weekend, Florida State lost defensive lineman Moses McCray on Saturday and RB Tavares Pressley on Friday. Both players tore their ACL during non-contact drills. Pressley’s injury, though grave, is not much of a loss to the Seminoles as he was buried in the depth chart and was used sparingly as a 4th string reserve back. The 6’0, 200 lbs back only amassed 40 yards on the...

Bobby Bowden goes to bat for Sammie Smith

Bobby Bowden may not be coaching the Seminoles anymore, but he is certainly going to step up to the plate when his alums are in need. In Florida, convicted felons cannot vote or own a weapon unless the individual gets a full or conditional pardon from the Clemency Board. So after 7 years behind bars for a federal...

The former Florida State assistant coach is doing extremely well and is showing signs of normalcy after tackling months of therapy for a cancerous tumor in his tonsils. Amato is slowly bouncing back from the treatment and is starting to eat solid foods again. Though Coach Chest (Amato’s nickname) lost over 20 pounds during this fight, he has not...

Clemson’s renaissance man makes history

This time last year, Clemson’s Kyle Parker was a redshirt freshman who was entrenched in a heated quarterback competition with Willy Korn. Fast forward to 2010, Parker is set to enter the 2010 season as Clemson’s #1 QB on the depth chart while Korn has left Clemson for the greener pastures of Marshall. Parker led the Clemson Tigers to an ACC Atlantic division football title last season and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. While Parker demonstrated that he...

The NCAA Strips Florida State

It’s official. The Florida State Seminoles will be forced to vacate 12 of its wins, five from the 2006-07 season and seven from the 2007-08 season. As part of the NCAA’s punishment, the school will be required to forfeit any trophies won during those seasons. Not that it’s an eye stopper at the Rick Losco Trophy Room, but this means the school must return its Emerald Bowl trophy back to the appropriate sponsor. Other teams facing sanctions were men’s and women’s...
