At least two coaches fell victim this Black Sunday. UVA’s Al Groh parted ways with the Cavaliers and Marshall’s Mark Snyder, who resigned, will forever be a Herd but just not the head coach. Groh’s firing shouldn’t come to any surprise. His job has been in jeopardy since the season kicked-off. The team suffered an embarrassing 3-9 record in 2009 and lost 8 of their last nine games. This summer, The Matador polled its fan base regarding which D-1 coach would be the first to go. The fans overwhelmingly picked Cheeseburger Charlie. However, it looks like coach Al Groh‘s stock just shot straight to the top.
