It’s been nine seasons for Virginia’s head coach Al Groh and all signs are pointing to this being the end. As of now, the Cavaliers are 3-5 and face a strong Miami team (#16) this weekend with no real signs of winning. AD Craig Littlepage states that Groh’s future will be looked at and determined at the end of the season and he will be evaluated on his full body of work.
Even though this is Groh’s alma mater, unless he produces a miracle and wins out, his tenure at UVA is certainly coming to a halt. The fans are already giving up as fan attendance has dropped down by over 7,000 strong per game from last year’s 5-7 squad.
Coach Groh is a great man and a great coach, but it is clear this isn’t a good fit for the school or the program.
