The University of Pittsburgh announced that sophomore safety Andrew Taglianetti tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during the Panthers victory over Buffalo 54-27. Since the injury occurred early in the season, Taglianetti can move for a medical redshirt giving him another year of eligibility. As it stands, Taglianetti will undergo surgery this year and junior Elijah Fields will take over as starting safety. Buffalo’s all-time leading rusher James Starks‘ career is over for the Bulls. The senior Doak Walker candidate RB suffered a labral tear in his shoulder that will require season ending surgery. This is not only disheartening for Buffalo fans but for fans of college football alike.
