Stillwater welcomed QB Zac Robinson back onto the gridiron after missing a week’s worth of practice nursing an injury. The true faithful can rest easy as Robinson has been taking normal 1st string snaps under center and is already impressing those on the field. It must be a sign from above. The Trojan’s 2004 BCS Trophy, which is glamorously displayed at Heritage Hall, was slightly damaged the other day. The crystal ball, which sits perched on top of the BCS trophy, mysteriously fell off its pegs and now lays to rest at the foot of the trophy. Some would say Erin Andrews, the famed ESPN college football reporter, was a victim in the peephole-camera incident when she was unlawfully videotaped walking around nude in her hotel room. It looks like more pictures are surfacing, but this time, they are with her consent. Andrews agreed to do a photo spread for GQ Magazine. Her pictures are quite amusing, in that she’s wearing muddy football attire dressed like one of the boys. This is quite different than her pictures from the peephole incident.

Navy takes a hit as starting nose guard Nate Frazier (6’3, 292 lbs.) was dismissed from the football team this past Monday. Cmdr. Joe Carpenter, the navy spokesman, confirmed the dismissal and stated “participating on a varsity athletic team is a privilege.” The exact accounts of the dismissal were not released; however, Navy is losing a strong anchor on the defensive side of the line. How serious is Hampton’s knee injury?

Iowa’s RB Jewel Hampton was slated to fill the shoes of NFL bound Shonn Greene. However, there is still uncertainty regarding his knee. Hampton has not been practicing with the team and coach Ferentz stated he is going to stay off his leg for “a little bit.” During Kids Day at Kinnick stadium this past Saturday, Hampton was wearing a sleeve on his right knee and appeared to be in good spirits, but not moving well. The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl to honor the accomplishments of three great college quarterbacks: Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that factors in the candidates’ bowl performance before making a final determination. This year’s watch list includes 38 of the nations top QBs; however, this award is open to any QB in the nation. The Nittany Lions are down a LB. Sophomore LB Michael Mauti may have torn his ACL during a scrimmage this past Sunday. The injury occurred at Beaver Stadium while Mauti was pursuing running back Brandon Beachum on a sweep play. Mauti went to cut after Beachum, and he tangled his knee causing the injury.
