Michigan gambles by adding Appalachian State in 2014

Seven years ago, Michigan was the laughing stock of college football after Appalachian State, Division 1-AA powerhouse, blocked a game winning field-goal stunning, not to mention embarrassing, the Wolverines in a 32-34 upset.  The shock waves are still present in Ann Arbor, and to exact revenge, Michigan’s AD David Brandon agreed to reschedule a date with Appalachian State for the 2014 season opener.  In Montgomery Burns fashion, Brandon cracked his knuckles and announced to the Wolverine Nation that “we look...

These American (and one Canadian, or Canadien) teams — college and pro — have the...

Vandy players scoot around campus

A few select football players from the Vanderbilt Commodores created a fraternity within the team dubbed the Biker ‘Dores.  Approximately 12 players on the roster scoot around campus in suped-up scooters.  The most notable enduro rider is 6’5, 300 lb. tackle Ryan Seymour.   One reason for the escalated scooter use, players are tired of paying parking tickets, so they’re trading their cars for scooters, the new preferred method of transportation. Georgetown and China battle it out on the hard court, literally

The facts are still coming in, but apparently U.S. relations with China took a turn for the worst last night. The Georgetown Hoyas were squaring off in what was supposed to be a friendly exhibition game against Baiya, a Chinese professional basketball team. During a poorly officiated game, the players took matters into their own hands—as one fan reported his take on how the showdown escalated–and a nasty bench clearing brawl ensued involving players, coaches, and some fans. Pictures can be seen HERE.
