Safety Janzen Jackson is no longer part of the program

A gem of a defensive back has been dismissed from the University of Tennessee.  DB Janzen Jackson is no longer a Tennessee Volunteer according to head coach Derek Dooley.  Coach Dooley announced the star’s dismissal earlier today, but did not elaborate on details and only sited “personal challenges” that “preclude him from the privilege of playing for the University of Tennessee football team.”

Jackson, who earned All-SEC Second Team honors in 2010, was expected to be a force in the secondary come 2011 as he racked up six INTs, 106 tackles, and 15 pass deflections in his short-lived 23 game career.  Jackson’s history of disciplinary problems clearly caught up to him.  Hopefully the young speedster will quickly get his life back on track so he can showcase his unprecedented talent elsewhere.
