With Joe Paterno’s abrupt firing, the board of trustees appointed defensive coordinator Tom Bradley as interim head coach for the Nittany Lions effective immediately. David Baran, a Penn State graduate, is so disgusted with his alma mater that he staged a rally on Tuesday on the steps of Old Main to protest the Jerry Sandusky scandal and to showcase his distaste about the way Penn State handled the sex abuse charges. The University of Oklahoma commemorated former head coach Barry Switzer by unveiling a bronze statue of the legendary coach at the Switzer Center this past Saturday during a well received pre-game dedication ceremony.
