Shame descends upon Ole Miss, get out if you can

In an act of stupidity, Ole Miss is allowing the Mississippi White Knigths of the KKK to stage a non-violent protest to show their distaste of the removal of “From Dixie With Love” from the band’s song selection during football games. The overweight white folks from Tunica will tailgate en masse in Oxford prior to Saturday’s game against LSU to shed light on their protest from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The administration initially warned the students to cease...

Google is…

In 2004, Google launched as a beta test product Google Suggest to attempt to finish a thought as a user types a search query within Google. As a result, Google searches generated amusing and quirky phraseology. Basically, Google uses a serious of algorithms designed to guess your ending which is derived from millions of actual user queries. Now here is what we found when we Googled some of college football’s biggest names.

Beloved Bulldog Dies

Some sad news out of the University of Georgia, Uga VII, “Loran’s Best,” has passed away today as a result of a heart attack. He had the shortest tenure of any of the Uga family, but he did compile a winning record of 16-7. He made his debut on August 30, 2008 during the Georgia Southern game. As a sign of mourning, there will be no live mascot during Georgia’s game this Saturday. Rather, a wreath will be placed...

Just say no to BCFx

For those of you who haven’t heard, there is a new football game called BCFx (Black College Football Experience): The Doug Williams Edition. Now, I’ve been a fan of college football since birth and I’ve been patiently waiting for a game that showcases the culture and spirit that captures the rich cultural history of historically black colleges and universities. However, this game does nothing to capture what could have been a ridiculously awesome game. From a player’s perspective, it’s...

Mangino eats food, not words

The times sure have changed in Lawrence, Kansas. When head coach Mark Mangino was sporting a 12-1 record and an Orange Bowl victory over Virginia Tech, not a peep was coming out about his questionable coaching philosophy or his temper. Now that the Jayhawks have tasted success, they expect nothing but the same results. However, after pouring a significant amount of money into revamping the football program and facilities, the team came out strong starting 5-0. Then reality set...

Ole Miss can’t escape its roots

Ole Miss is making a valiant effort to rise among the ranks of the SEC powers, however, this article will provide a reason why the 2010 recruiting class will fall short. Ole Miss Chancellor Dan Jones has banned the Rebels’ marching band from playing the fan favorite “From Dixie With Love” during football games after a group of students disregarded an edict that they stop chanting, “The South will rise again.” Now his support of the student-led initiative to...

Another Vols Arrested

The Matador is considering changing this site to the Vols’ police blotter as Tennessee continues to deal with its delinquent players.  Another star 2009 recruit fell on the wrong side of the law and was arrested for shoplifting before the Memphis game.  Freshman defensive back Nyshier Oliver rounds up the forth criminal (for the month of November) on Kiffin’s team roster (you already know about the other three convicts). Now everyone has pregame rituals. For example, I like to wear the same socks from my...

Clean out your locker, you are out

Our legal montra is pretty simple: innocent until proven guilty. I guess this did not apply to the Vols’ Nu’Keese Richardson and Mike Edwards who were both permanently dismissed from the team for their attempted armed robbery charges. Meanwhile, safety Janzen Jackson is barred from team activities while the school awaits further information.      This is by no way saying the players were not involved in any incident, but at the very least the players should all be treated like...
