UNC’s Moral Victory

Before No.18 North Carolina boarded the team plane for Atlanta to play No. 21 LSU, critics nationwide had written the Tar Heels off. Pundits from San Diego to South Beach declared that UNC didn’t stand a chance given the 13 suspensions handed down late last week amidst accusations of cheating and an illegal agent benefit scandal. The Tar Heels headed into Saturday night’s Kick-Off Classic missing the heart and soul of their football team. Starting defensive tackle Marvin Austin,...

Is Kirk Ferentz the most overrated coach in college football? Pt. 2

The first part of this Iowa news series received such a warm reception by Hawkeye Nation, hopefully part two promises more of the same. I get that he and Iowa have always been media darlings, and I understand his Hawkeyes have been the proverbial fly in the ointment for Penn State...

LSU’s Shepard moves to WR

Russell Shepard will be moving from quarterback to receiver for the LSU Tigers this upcoming football season. Shepard, a true sophomore, will be playing the slot role in a move that is expected to allow him more touches and playing time. This news comes as a bit of a  surprise as Shepard was the #1 ranked QB coming out of high school in 2009, and was one of LSU’s most heralded recruits in recent years.  Shepard enrolled early at...
