Cody Hawkins has been given every single chance to perform this season and–surprise surprise– has failed miserably. His coach and father continued to start Hawkins despite his terrible 2009 campaign. This season, Hawkins has an aplatry 1-4 record throwing 9 TDs and 9 INTs. Maryland’s Ralph Friedgen was battling Kansas coach Mark Mangino for the heaviest coach alive title last season. Don’t look now but the Fridge has dropped 105 lbs since the off-season courtesy of his new diet. Friedgen weighed well over 300 lbs. at one point and says he started the diet to prevent health concern complications that come along with being overweight as he gets older.
