USC’s McKnight Under Investigation

USC tailback Joe McKnight is under investigation by the NCAA for a possible improper use of a vehicle violation. According to the L.A. Times,  McKnight has been driving a 2006 Land Rover for the past few weeks which has raised a few heads. Records indicate that the SUV is registered to Santa Monica businessman Scott Schenter. The NCAA has strict rules concerning student-athletes and gift/extra benefits, and it has no reservation with deeming an athlete ineligible if it is...

Haden temporary, tattoo permanent

Before you ever consider getting a tat, The Matador urges you to really think twice before you get this everlasting artwork. Syracuse had an abysmal 3-9 record last season. Their highlight was a surprise victory at Notre Dame 24-23. With Doug Marrone stepping in as head coach, he is making an immediate change with the team’s schedule. As of past, the Orange have scheduled some very difficult teams and their record is reflecting the consequence. This season, they open up with the Big 10 against Minnesota, at Penn State, then Northwestern. Probably not the best scheduling decision by athletic director Rob Edson. To...

Army adds more games at Yankee Stadium

According to ESPN, Army has agreed to play three more football games in Yankee stadium in addition to the Notre Dame game scheduled for the fall of 2010. As of now, Army will host Rutgers in 2011, Air Force in 2012, and Boston College in 2014. This is exciting news for the college football community as it is reminiscent of the old tradition of gridiron in Yankee Stadium.
