Former USC commit, Glen Stanley, wants out, he is looking to play in his home state of Florida.

With all the buzz surrounding Seantrel Henderson and his departure from USC, the Trojan nation better recognize other players are heading out the door as USC’s sanctions are starting to set in with the upperclassmen. Rumors are swirling at Tomahawk nation that JUCO transfer and redshirt junior Glen Stanley is already in Florida waiting for USC to release him from his letter of intent.

The DE from Ocala, Florida, wasn’t highly recruited out of high school but after a season at Baylor and then at Eastern Arizona JUCO his stock flew off the charts. So much so, while at Tennessee, Lane Kiffin convinced Stanley to commit to the Volunteers. Shortly after Kiffin dumped Tennessee for USC, Stanley followed his coach to the west coast.

However, when the NCAA came down hard on USC, Stanley needed to find a new home. He decided to take advantage of the NCAA’s reprieve in which USC’s juniors and seniors were free to transfer and play immediately for another school. If Stanley has any aspirations to play in a post-season bowl game, he has no choice but to leave USC.

It’s no secret that Stanley does not want to be at USC because of its post-season ban, the question is, will USC grant Stanley an unconditional release as they did with Henderson. If so, a lucky Florida (state) school will have the privilege of landing this very talented athlete on the defensive end come 2010.
