Kyle Parker selected in the first round of MLB draft

Clemson quarterback Kyle Parker was taken with the 26th pick in the first round of this year’s MLB draft earlier this evening. Parker was drafted by the Colorado Rockies and became the school’s 10th first round draft pick. While this is a great accomplishment by Parker, the redshirt sophomore will have to make a decision to either return to Clemson and play football in the fall, or leave school for a career with the Colorado Rockies.

Clemson thrived last season with Parker under center. The Tigers won the ACC Atlantic division title and defeated Kentucky in the Music City Bowl. It will be interesting to follow this situation and see if Parker will stay at Clemson. If he departs for the Rockies, true sophomore Tajh Boyd will more than likely take over as starting QB.
