Barkley Undergoes Wrist Surgery

USC QB Matt Barkley underwent wrist surgery earlier this week to repair damage suffered on his right wrist. The Trojans are hoping that Barkley makes a full recovery in time for the start of spring ball. USC welcomes new head coach Lane Kiffin and the coaching staff are hoping that Barkley can make it back by spring practice as Kiffin will be implementing a new offense for Barkley to run.

As of now, Barkley and Mitch Mustain are the only scholarship QBs on the Trojans’ roster. Barkley had a decent season last year as a true freshman. He flashed moments of greatness and folks in LA LA land are hoping that he can put it all together for his sophomore campaign. Losing Pete Carroll definitely hurts his progress, but optimism abounds about Kiffin.
