Tennessee safety Eric Berry announced Thursday night that he will be leaving UT early for the NFL. Berry made the announcement shortly after Virgina Tech steamrolled the Vols 37-14. Berry’s departure shouldn’t surprise many as he’s projected to be the first player taken in this year’s draft according to many pundits.
The 2009 Jim Thorpe trophy winner has had an illustrious collegiate career and leaves Tennessee as arguably their best defensive player ever. While Tennessee will most definitely miss Berry’s services, opposing conference teams are releasing a collective sigh of release. Congrats on an amazing career Berry, your millions in the NFL await you.
