McCoy wins Unitas Award
Colt McCoy has reason to celebrate as he has been announced as the 2009 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner. The Unitas winner is recognized for not only athletic accomplishment, but for character, citizenship, scholastic achievement, and leadership qualities. Congratulations Mr. McCoy, you are a deserving recipient.
McCoy joins the ranks of previous winners to include Matt Ryan (‘07), Brady Quinn (’06), and Matt Leinart (’05). All of whom were top draft picks. However, this award does not necessarily mean he will be a first rounder, just ask former Texas Tech Graham Harrell, last year’s recipient.
Next up for Colt, a Heisman then a National Championship.
It will be a sin if McCoy doesnt win the Heisman. Tebone had a great college career, but McCoy’s numbers should land him the Heisman.
