As SC tries to salvage their disappointing 2009 campaign, there is some good news coming out of Los Angeles. WR Damian Williams, who missed the blowout loss to Stanford with an ankle sprain, has been practicing with the team and all signs are pointing to his return.
Pete Carroll will not officially announce his status until later in the week when SC faces UCLA. The Trojans are in bad need of an offensive spark and Williams in the line-up provides that much needed threat.
Not only is Williams a leading receiver but he is also the Trojans’ top punt returner. Without Williams on the field, their showdown with crosstown rival UCLA may be closer than the experts predict.
