What is going on over at Vandy? First, the team lost a heart breaking game to Army this past weekend. Yes, the mighty SEC lost to Army. Now Vandy is dealing with another loss. Vanderbilt just announced the indefinite suspension of sophomore RB Jermaine Doster following his arrest by Nashville police the day before the Army game (Doster wasn’t on the traveling team).
Coach Bobby Johnson confirmed the suspension today. Apparently, Doster was in a late night melee in downtown Nashville. Despite repeated orders of “Stop, Police!” Doster continued to advance on the others while swinging at them. Finally, the police broke it up and the officers used a stun gun to stop Doster in his tracks. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Doster is no stranger to the law as he was suspended in 2008 as a result of misdemeanor charges for refusing to leave a night club in Tampa, Florida.
The Matador is not sure how many chances Doster is going to get, but let’s all hope he learns from his latest infraction.
