DE Cedric McKinley (#55) will have a lot of time to practice as he has been suspended from game play for the next two games for violation of team rules

Coach Tim Brewster just announced today the immediate suspension of two Gophers’ football players. Starting senior DE Cedric McKinley and sophomore back-up DB Tim Dandridge are both facing two game suspensions. The exact cause of the suspensions, you guessed it, violation of team rules.

The suspension of McKinley serves as the biggest concern as he is a key impact defensive player who had a strong game in the Gophers 35-24 victory over Northwestern to open Big 10 play. Most notably, he sacked Kafka in the fourth quarter, forced a fumble and then recovered the ball.

The Gophers will surely miss McKinley’s presence on defense as the team faces Wisconsin this weekend and Purdue on October 10th.
