Former Tennessee QB, and current Indianapolis Colt Peyton Manning, announced on Saturday that he will be donating 1 million dollars to the Tennessee Volunteers new athletic training facility.”This facility will allow UT athletes now, and in the future to train at the highest level possible. I want to continue to challenge others to be a part of this as well. I hope this will serve as a challenge to others who are considering making a pledge. It’s great that we have the pleasure to break ground on this facility, which will actually start in October.”
The three-time NFL MVP was in Knoxville on Saturday to see his alma mater take on Western Kentucky. While in town, he attended the dedication of the new Tennessee Vols locker room which happens to be named after him. He also gave a generous 1 million dollar donation for the construction of it as well.
Manning is a legend to Tennessee fans and rightfully so. He was a world class performer at UT on and off the field for his athletic and academic achievements. It’s always good to see guys such as Peyton Manning in athletics today. In a sports world when many are only concerned about themselves, Manning is a breath of fresh air.
