USC quarterback Matt Barkley will forgo the Senior Bowl as he is still recovering from an AC sprain to his right throwing shoulder suffered in a 38-28 loss to UCLA back on November 17th. Barkley returned to USC for his senior season with high hopes of leading the Trojans to a national title while picking up the Heisman along the way. Unfortunately, none of this happened.
USC finished unranked at 7-6 capped by an embarrassing loss to Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl. As a Trojan, Barkley threw for 12,327 yards, 116 TDs and 48 INTs. The Newport Beach native is poised to be a top ten selection and is expected to be one of the first quarterbacks taken in the NFL draft.
