USC RB Dillon Baxter did not travel with his team to South Bend so he could stay with his pregnant girlfriend over the weekend.
If you watched USC break Notre Dame’s spirit last night, you might have noticed that the Trojan’s star running back Dillon Baxter was not on the sidelines. In fact, he did not even travel with the team. Rather, Baxter stayed home because his girlfriend was going into labor.
There is no word on whether or not his girlfriend did in fact give birth this weekend, but with Baxter’s constant absence, there is reason to believe his days on the team are numbered. Baxter has missed multiple practices for “family issues” and “academic issues.” In short, head coach Lane Kiffin stated he would “talk to Dillon when we get back.”
Coach Kiffin has yet to address the issue any further but it’s clear Baxter’s embattled sophomore season is anything but stunning. He has a paltry nine caries for only 29 yards this season.
