Big Ten to Realign Again

Hitting a Defenseless Player Results in Automatic Ejection

A new rule is in place where football players could automatically be ejected from the game if they contact a defenseless player above the shoulders.  Yesterday, the NCAA’s Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved this safety based rule per a recommendation by the NCAA’s Football Rules Committee. All Caroline Pla wants to do is play football, but according to the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), females are banned from playing the sport. Pla, a Doylestown, Pennsylvania resident, is just 11-years old and has been playing football ever since she was five. When she was in the fifth-grade she joined the Junior Varsity Catholic Youth Organization team, the Romans, in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. USC quarterback Matt Barkley will forgo the Senior Bowl as he is still recovering from an AC sprain to his right throwing shoulder suffered in a 38-28 loss to UCLA back on November 17th.  Barkley returned to USC for his senior season with high hopes of leading the Trojans to a national title while picking up the Heisman along the way.  Unfortunately, none of this happened.
