Finalists Named for Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award

Bill O'Brien led PSU to an 8-4 record opening the door for the 2012 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year award.

The Football Writers Association of America announced the nine finalists for the 2012 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award.  The winner will be named on Thursday, December 13, 2012 with an official presentation reception on January 6, 2013.

The nine finalists are:

1)      Gary Anderson, Utah State (10-2)

2)      Dave Doeren, Northern Illinoise (12-1)

3)      Brian Kelly, Notre Dame (12-0)

4)      Urban Meyer, Ohio State (12-0)

5)      Will Muschamp, Florida (11-1)

6)      Bill O’Brien, Penn State (8-4)

7)      David Shaw, Stanford (11-2)

8)      Bill Snyder, Kansas State (11-1)

9)      Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M (10-2)

The FWAA has been awarding the Coach of the Year Award since 1957 and is named after the late Eddie Robinson who is the second-winningest coach in DI history with 408 wins.
