A Prince takes a knee

Not only did UCLA get embarrassed 60-13 by Oregon this past Thursday, but the Bruins got more bad news as they learned QB Kevin Prince will miss the remainder of the season after arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Prince missed the last two Bruins’ games before undergoing surgery this Saturday to repair the meniscus in his knee. Prince’s knee continued to bother him with pain and swelling after last month’s surprise upset win over Texas and team doctors...

The Charlton Cane

If the United States Sentencing Commission adopted the same punishment guidelines as used in Singapore, crime would significantly be reduced in the U.S. The latest American to fall victim overseas to ignorance of the law is former Florida State star Kamari Charlton. The 37 year-old Seminole was arrested after he overstayed his 3 month tourist visa by 169 days. Initially, he claimed he did not leave within the 90-day visa time frame because his wife, who had a six...

The Eyes Have It

For the Arkansas faithful still irritated by the poor officiating in Saturday’s shootout loss to Auburn, one fan base may have a solution. A Fayetteville, Arkansas, based ophthalmic practice is offering free Lasik eye surgery to all the zebras who officiated the game. The reason being, Drs. Jay McDonald and Dusty McIver do not want to see their beloved Razorbacks get the short end of the stick when it comes to officiating. In the Razorbacks’ 65-43 slug-fest, there were two controversial...

Tweetle me this

With social media becoming an everyday lifestyle for today’s generation, players are learning the hard way that there is no more transparency in what you say, or in this case, Tweet to the world. The latest victim receiving backlash is Kentucky’s WR Randall Cobb. Cobb apparently lashed out at the Kentucky faithful for coming to the South Carolina game late, leaving early, and being more concerned about the basketball team than the football team. Cobb tweeted to the virtual...

A QB Controversy in the Making?

QB Denard Robinson, who sprained his right throwing shoulder during a 38-28 loss to Iowa this Saturday, is expected to be healthy for the Wolverines when they face Penn State on October 30th. Coach Rich Rodriguez confirmed that there is no QB controversy and Robinson is still the starter and will play if healthy. For Michigan fans, this may not be a good thing with Michigan 0-2 in conference play. When the shifty Robinson went down early in the 3rd...

Brewster gets the pink slip

When head coach Tim Brewster arrived at Minnesota back in 2007 to replace Glen Mason, Gopher fans had high expectations and even set their eyes on the Rose Bowl. However, Brewster’s brief tenure at Minnesota was far from rosy. In 4 seasons, Brewster went a disappointing 15-30 with a paltry 6-21 record in Big Ten play. Last Saturday, the Gophers lost 28-17 to Purdue marking the sixth straight defeat for Brewster and company. Minnesota had enough and cut bait by...
