Some unfortunate news is coming out of the Maryland camp this morning. Starting right tackle Pete DeSouza suffered two broken legs in an on-campus scooter accident last night. The redshirt freshman was riding his scooter just outside Cole Field House westbound on Campus Drive when a motorist suddenly turned left right into the path of DeSouza causing the impact. When police arrived at the scene, they issued the driver of the vehicle a traffic citation for failing to yield the right of way.
DeSouza will have surgery today and is expected to make a full recovery. However, he will be out for the rest of the season. The team travels to Boston to take on BC this Saturday.
