Michele Bachmann: “I want to find that guy [Sandusky] and beat him to a pulp”

Minnesota Representative and presidential candidate Michele Bachmann addressed questions regarding the sexual abuse scandal at Penn State during Sunday’s Meet the Press with David Gregory. Bachman had two interesting comments regarding the fallout at Penn State. First, Bachmann said if this horrific incident happened to one of her children, she would want to find Jerry Sandusky and “beat him to a pulp.” Second, Bachmann was adamant that this investigation should remain at the state level and Congress should not...

Maryland is in complete disarray

After Maryland stunned the ACC by winning its home opener against a less than 100% Miami Hurricanes squad, the remainder of the season has been a complete downward spiral. Last night Maryland faced Notre Dame in its own backyard at FedEx field losing 45-21. Though it was deemed a home game for the Irish, Maryland’s campus is only a short drive away. However, out of the 70,251 in attendance, the Terps representation was almost nonexistent. The Fighting Irish absolutely...

Navy QB Kriss Proctor leads team to victory without completing a pass

Navy QB Kriss Proctor led the Midshipmen to a 24-17 victory over SMU today despite zero passing yards. In fact, Proctor only threw the ball twice, both being incomplete (he did have one complete pass, but it was to the other team). “I love it,” Proctor joked. “I didn’t complete a pass. I threw a pick. I guess that counts as a completion.” Where Proctor failed in the aerial attack, he more than made up in the ground game....

A true sign of class from Penn State and Nebraska

After an emotionally charged week, there were skeptics that believed Penn State should cancel today’s game and perhaps cancel the remainder of the season citing among other things, safety. However, interim president Rod Erickson was going to have no part of that. The university did take precautions by adding extra security, but at the end of the day, Penn State and Nebraska are both teams rich in tradition and pride that wanted to play the game. Prior to kick-off,...

Mike McQueary is out, put on administrative leave

In somewhat mystifying fashion, after university trustees fired president Graham Spanier and iconic head coach Joe Paterno, the trustees thought it best to keep assistant coach Mike McQueary on the coaching staff. After public scrutiny, death threats, and plain disbelief, current school interim president Rod Erickson finally announced that McQueary will be placed on administrative leave and will not coach for the Nittany Lions. McQueary, a former Penn State quarterback, was the graduate assistant who witnessed defensive coordinator Jerry...

Open letter from a Buckeye to a Nittany Lion

A fan shared this letter with me (which has gone viral). TheMatadorSports wanted to share: Dear Penn State Fan/Alumni, You don’t know me.  Sure, we may have seen each other once or twice at a road game or a tailgate, but aside from a passing glance, and an occasional hello, we are strangers.  Heck, we’re actually more like enemies.  After all, I’m a fan of The Ohio State University — tOSU, or O$U as you might call it.  Since you guys joined the Big Ten Conference...

Tom Bradley takes the reins at Penn State

With Joe Paterno’s abrupt firing, the board of trustees appointed defensive coordinator Tom Bradley as interim head coach for the Nittany Lions effective immediately. Bradley’s routes are embedded in Pennsylvania as he was both a graduate of Penn State and played defensive back for Paterno in the late 1970’s. Ever since he graduated, he remained by Paterno’s side. He was a graduate assistant (1979), then promoted to assistant (1980-1999), then in 2000 was named the defensive coordinator to replace...
