This just in, Syracuse’s WR Mike Williams has quit the team. Throughout his roller coaster career at Syracuse, he has always been the Orange’s #1 receiver with sure hands. After missing last season because of academic reasons, he returned this season in true form. Before he quit the team, he was the leading receiver (even with a game suspension) with 49 receptions for 746 yards and six touchdowns. Syracuse won convincingly today over Akron 28-14. If you noticed on the stat sheet, there was no Mike Williams. Apparently, Williams was suspended from the game for violation of team rules. The Orange didn’t elaborate or offer any other details. For you remaining Syracuse fans, Williams is the top offensive threat for the Orange. He has amassed 712 yards and 6 TDs in 45 catches for the season.
