After taking a back seat to Michigan's Denard Xavier Robinson, QB Tate Forcier (#5) abruptly left Michigan

On a warm September day back in 2009, heralded freshman sensation Tate Forcier hit Greg Matthews for a 5-yard TD score with 11 seconds remaining giving the Wolverines a 38-34 upset victory over No. 18 Notre Dame.  The media raved at Forcier’s demeanor during the unlikely winning drive acknowledging a star was born in the Michigan ranks.  Unfortunately for Forcier, after that tremendous victory, he has been anything but a luminary in Ann Arbor.

For Forcier, there is finally new light for the once highly-profiled gunslinger.  Come 2011, Forcier will call San Jose State his new home.  His unexpected arrival is causing a lot of buzz on campus that hasn’t been seen since the days of QB Jeff Garcia.  Much to the delight of the Spartans and head coach Mike MacIntyre, the San Diego native opted for San Jose State over other big time programs to include Miami and Auburn.

Once academically ineligible, Forcier took some on-line courses and is now set to enroll and report to camp on August 4.  The QB will have some time to settle-in as per NCAA transfer rules, he will not be eligible to play until the 2012 season.
