Yesterday, South Florida officials disappointingly dropped a $2.75 million dollar ball. If you don’t recall, former Bulls head coach Jim Leavitt was relieved of his duties back in January 2010, after allegations of player abuse. When the school completed its investigation, the top brass concluded Leavitt should be fired for choking, slapping and berating a player, walk-on Joel Miller, during halftime of the November 21st Louisville game. Disgraced University of South Florida coach Jim Leavitt is suing his former employer in an attempt to retrieve $7M from his now voided contract. Leavitt and his attorney, Will Florin, filed the 53 page lawsuit in the Hillsborough County Circuit Court last week under the grounds that he was wrongfully terminated by USF. The lawsuit contends that the school’s investigation was “biased, flawed, and legally unsupportable”. Leavitt was fired by USF in January after sources leaked that he physically assaulted one...

Leavitt Chokes Again

USF coach Jim Leavitt is in the news again for one of his infamous choke jobs. This time it is not on the football field, but rather, the locker room. According to plaintiff Joel Miller and several witnesses, Leavitt struck Miller twice in the face while grabbing his neck.  If true, these charges may be enough to send South Florida’s only coach packing.
