Iowa suffered two losses this past Saturday in Tucson, Arizona. As if  losing 31-24 to the Arizona Wildcats wasn’t enough, the Hawkeyes also lost starting RB Jewel Hampton for the rest of the season, after he tore his ACL in the second half. Two Iowa football players were arrested early Saturday morning after a fight at Iowa City’s Vito bar. Running back Jewel Hampton, 20, was arrested for public intoxication and underage presence at a liquor establishment. Witnesses stated that Hampton was causing problems with Vito patrons that soon turned physical. Big rumors are swirling in Iowa City. There is chatter that the Hawkeyes’ star RB Jewel Hampton is contemplating red-shirting the 2009 season. Earlier in the summer, Hampton went down with a right knee strain which was subsequently injured during the preseason a few weeks ago. How serious is Hampton’s knee injury?

Iowa’s RB Jewel Hampton was slated to fill the shoes of NFL bound Shonn Greene. However, there is still uncertainty regarding his knee.
