The Grambling State and Prairie View bands seem to play to the beat of a different drum much to the dismay of the SWAC. The conference is coming down on the school’s bands for playing at inappropriate times during last weekend’s football game. The conference has strict rules regarding when bands can play. It’s comforting to see a school not prematurely throw back injured athletes onto the field for the sake of winning. Much to the dismay of the Cowboys faithful, Oklahoma State’s Dez Bryant will be held out of today’s game against Grambling State. The top WR in the nation is still nursing a tweaked hamstring and the school believes the best course of action would be to rest Bryant until he is fully recovered (Pete Carroll, please take notes).
